About Us

WE EMPOWER, WE INNOVATE, WE CARE

Dementia is a complex condition that affects millions of individuals

worldwide, impacting not only the patients but also their families and

caregivers. As the number of dementia cases continues to rise, there is a

pressing need for well-trained professionals who can provide

compassionate and effective care to individuals living with dementia. ACT

aims to bridge this gap by providing specialised education and training

programs designed to empower carers with the skills and knowledge

needed to deliver high-quality care. This care will be based on facilities

created to care for dementia residents and for residents who live with

families in their homes.

Vision Statement

To revolutionise caregiver education by providing innovative and

empowering training solutions for those caring for dementia residents,

setting a new standard in compassionate care. To empower the carer as an

important role player in a caring community.

Mission Statement

To empower carers with comprehensive, tailor-made, out-of-the-box

education, training solutions, and practical skills, ensuring the highest

standard of care for dementia residents to enhance the quality of life for

our residents and carers, alike.

Meagan Jansen

Hi, I am Meagan

I am 28-year-old ambitious woman, born and raised in Cape Town. Working a nine to five, married to my high school sweetheart, mother to a pigeon pair and a furry 3-year-old Great Dane name Gill, you would say this woman has her hands full already, right?

The answer is yes but I refuse to let that be me!

I have always had a passion for helping people – cliché I know!! It all started when I matriculated, I had this persistent urge to go into healthcare, I wanted to be a nurse. I ended up in a renal care facility, that pushed me to complete my care giver course. However, the “urge” to work in the healthcare industry basically ended after I did my practical training. I realised that you cannot be a nurse if you just have that urge to work in healthcare, you need to have a passion, it’s a calling no one can teach you.

I then decided to study in the field of HR. This I can proudly say, is my ultimate passion and “calling”. I now have over 5 years HR experience in many industries and different capacities.

In October 2023, I decided to join Livewell, a Dementia care facility. Working currently as the Human Resource Administrator in this healthcare facility is by far the best Human Resource position I have had in my years of experience. Working with healthcare staff, knowing and understanding their day-to-day struggles and what they need from a company to succeed, feel appreciated, and stay motivated. I can also understand from a company perspective what type of healthcare staff they need to help them succeed and deliver exceptional service to their clients.

Now for the future, I am taking on an unknown role to me, a Facilitator to you who wishes to, just like me, act on that urge and make an impact in someone’s life. It might not be an easy step to take right now, but with dedication and determination you and I will make this work, and we will make everyone around us so proud, but most importantly we will make ourselves proud!
